Happy Birthday, Dame Diana Rigg!

To help celebrate the birthday of Mrs. Emma Peel, I thought I would scan cards in the Strictly Ink Avengers Series One collectible card set that feature Diana Rigg. I figured many people hadn't seen these before....

If you only know Diana Rigg from Game of Thrones, you should go to your library *today* and type her name in SEARCH. She was in the James Bond film On Her Majesty's Secret Service. She was an elderly detective in The Mrs. Adela Bradley Mystery series.  She was in The Great Muppet Caper, Evil Under The Sun, and The Hospital. And of course, she was the greatest partner John Steed ever had in the original British TV hit of the Sixties, The Avengers.

She has won a BAFTA (British Emmy) in 1990 for "Mother Love," a Tony in 1994 for "Medea," and an Emmy in 1997 for "Rebecca." And she was Emmy-nominated twice for her role as Emma Peel... but lost both times to a sister spy, Barbara Bain on Mission: Impossible!

She was named a Dame of the British Empire in 1994 for her contributions to British film and theatre.

And as of last week, she is back in comic-books. I will try to review her appearances soon! If you are interested, this is ON SALE NOW!

Happy Birthday, Dame Diana Rigg!
