Happy Birthday, Georgia!

Today is the anniversary of Georgia ratifying the US Constitution, becoming one of the original 13 Colonies that became The United States of America.
Date of Admittance: January 2, 1788
Parentage: The state was named after King George II of England by its founder, James Oglethorpe.
