Happy Birthday, Bob Seger!

Bob Seger is one of my favorite singers. Funny thing about him, though, is that if you were to ask the average person what either of his two biggest hits were, you probably wouldn't get the right answer!

Quick, name a Bob Seger song....! And you say Old Time Rock and Roll, or We've Got the Night, or Night Moves, am I right? However, his only Number One hit was a song he wrote for the Beverly Hills Cop 2 sound-track that he hadn't intended to sing, Breakdown. His second biggest hit, a Number Two song for four weeks, is some song that I didn't even remember called Shame On The Moon.

I also did not realize that he co-wrote The Eagles' hit, Heartache Tonight.

Bob Seger was admitted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, deservedly so. He lives semi-retired in his native Michigan or in Florida, going out on tour when the urge strikes him.
Bob Seger was born on May 6, 1945. To help celebrate his 68th birthday, here is probably the most iconic video any of his songs has ever had, and also one of my favorites, from a live concert in 2011. I love how you can hear everybody singing along.

Happy Birthday, Bob Seger!
