Happy Birthday, Arkansas!

Today is the anniversary of Arkansas being admitted to our United States of America.

Date of Admittance:
June 15, 1836

Parentage: The word "arkansas" comes from the French name for Quapaw, an early Native American nation. So basically we stole this area from Native Americans. Can you believe it?

Twenty-five stars represents
that it is the 25th state
(For all that symbolism and they
still put the State's name on it?
They were doing so well, too....!)
